Alligator d'Amérique
L'alligator d'Amérique est le plus grand des alligators. Pouvant atteindre de 4 à 5 m, pour les plus grands spécimens, les alligators d'Amérique possèdent de petites pattes, mais peuvent tout de même atteindre la vitesse de 40 km sur la terre ferme, ainsi que sous l'eau lorsqu'ils nagent. Reconnaissable à son large museau arrondi, qui le différencie des crocodiles, l'alligator d'Amérique vit exclusivement en Amérique du Nord et ne pourra pas être confondu non plus avec le caïman qui vit en Amérique du Sud. Réputé dangereux et causant la mort d'hommes et de femmes chaque années, l'alligator comme les autres crocodiliens possède un régime alimentaire très varié, composés d'oiseaux, de mammifères, de reptiles, de batraciens, de poissons et même de charognes.

American alligator
American alligator is the largest of alligators. Reaching lengths of 4 to 5 meters for the largest specimens, American alligators have small legs but can still reach speeds of 40 km/h on land, as well as underwater when swimming. Recognizable by its broad, rounded snout, which distinguishes it from crocodiles, the American alligator exclusively inhabits North America and cannot be confused with the caiman, which lives in South America. Notoriously dangerous and responsible for the deaths of men and women each year, the alligator, like other crocodilians, has a highly varied diet, consisting of birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, fish, and even carrion.
